We’re seeking an experienced software testing and automation leader to join our Research & Development team here at Direct. The ideal candidate understands all parts of the software deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing and operations.

Responsibilities

• Ability to adapt quickly in a team that constantly strives to “do more, faster.”
• Desire to build a world-class QA team that is capable of ensuring high quality deployments
• A love of testing and finding obscure problems in complex systems
• Eager to create a robust automated testing system including continuous integration testing and deployment to back up the human-powered testing process
• Prepare test strategies/plans/scripts, schedule testing responsibilities and ensure process compliance 
• Participate in all Agile or Scrum ceremonies like Daily stand Ups, Sprint planning , backlog grooming, sprint retrospectives etc.
• Plan and lead all testing initiatives to ensure software releases meet or exceed requirements
• Experience testing websites and mobile apps (iOS/ Android)
• Manually test new software features
• Documents bugs with steps to reproduce them
• Work with cross-functional teams
• Work with all business units (sales, marketing, customer support, engineers)
• Execute regression testing and test plans
• Define test cases and test plans
  
  

Requirements

• Deep experience with testing methodologies, and automated testing frameworks (experience with RSpec a plus)
• Experience with Ruby and Rails
• Open source contributions and projects are a huge plus (Any published gems? Rails contributor?)
• Desire to work on a small, fast moving team
• 2+ years of experience in Software Testing
• Experience in writing and executing Test Plans, Test Scenarios, and Test Cases
• A solid foundation of manual testing with excellent debugging skills
• Experience with QA tools 
• Hands on experience in testing mobile applications, web applications and REST API
